Sweet potatoes are delicious. These Sweet Potato fries are easy, simple and healthy. An amazing alternative to our favorite french fry without the guilt!
I’ve been making sweet potato fries for a really long time and they always turn out delicious, crispy and highly requested. For these, we left some of the skin on the fries to get that nice char look. I think it gives it a little flare and a lot more flavor, which is so good. Cutting sweet potatoes is no easy task. I find them to be one of the most difficult things to cut – ever. But if you put a lot of strength into it, you can do it rather quickly and easily!
After you wash your sweet potatoes thoroughly its time to cut them! Cutting your fries into the same size is tough but try your best — it will make sure an even bake throughout and make sure all your fries get crispy and not floppy! who likes floppy fries? No thank you!I use parchment paper for just about everything I cook and bake — it’s easy to clean up and makes sticking not a problem! If you have a larger baking sheet that’s ideal but a normal size one will work too. After tossing your fries in your olive oil and get all your favorite spices in the mix – get them onto your cookie sheet, into the oven they go and you are done!

3. Slice up your sweet potatoes trying to get them as close to the same size as you can
4. In a bowl mix EVOO and sea salt and toss your cut sweet potatoes evenly coating them all
5. Place on prepared baking sheet in oven and bake for 15 minutes, then turn the fries as best you can and bake for another 15 minutes.
See the really nice char? I love having char to my sweet potato fries if you don’t like that just take them out a little sooner. Not a big deal.
I like my fries without as much seasoning as the next, so I only use a little bit. Because of the fact you are using sweet potatoes, you can use just about anything to season, here are some ideas:
- Sea salt
- Chipotle chili powder
- Ceyanne pepper
- Brown sugar and maple syrup
Anything else you may have on hand or like to use to enjoy your fries with! My kids LOVE to dip theirs in ketchup and a few even like ranch — Which sounds weird, but it works for them.
